picturesque old town

Kropa is a picturesque old town with a river running right through it. A quick stop to stretch our legs and enjoy the view.

Spent a great afternoon visiting the town museum , and the old balcksmith's forge. Easily accessible from the hop on /hop off bus on Tuesdays. Lovely old town , full of history and atmosphere. Rounded off visit with a couple of local beers in the town's cafe.

The place and the service was fantastic. We had the trout and the ribs with fried onion and both dishes were very good. It is served with vegetable from the garden and very fresh. Total recommendation, worth the 20 minute drive from Bled!

Very cute and beautiful village with so much running water. A hidden jewel and easy to walk, the town is really small. Sounds of the running wrater is so soothing.

Kropa looks different than the average villages in Slovenia. Old big houses that many of them are run down . But it has a uniqueness of its own - an old village of iron workers in the past. A lovely river runs in the middle of Kropa and the atmosphere is an old fashioned place (in the positive sense)

This was a small village I stumbled upon, very well hidden and off the beaten path. Definately worth a visit if you enjoy alpine scenery. Known for the early ironworks and smelting operation this small but picturesque town has alot to offer for photographers and history buffs. Iron scuptures are hand-forged and one of a kind making for uniques but... More

Loved the slightly neglected look of some of the older buildings either side of the main street and the channel running through the town. Also liked the signs of the iron industry. Picturesque location at the bottom of a wooded mountain.

Not on travel route but if you have time worth to see. City has got many iron detailes on each street lamps and houses. Nice channel flowing in the city center.

on the way to Bled from Skofja Loka. The review before me says it all! We too went thru the Forging Museum( 6 euro/$8 for 2 people) and enjoyed the history. To add "icing to the cake" we met a tour group from Israel and enjoyed our interaction with several people. We didn't eat lunch here.....we saved THAT for Old... More
