Amazing historical church. Wish it was less touristy but did enjoy being able to view it and learn the history behind the ancient church. A definite must see!

I thought this would be really cool inside but it wasn't. Small nooks and crannies with chairs and an Alter. Some neat wood carvings. But I won't go back or recommend it to friends who visit. It was cool temperature wise inside. So it was...More

The history of this church is amazing- it's a small church inlaid into the rock - it's not got all the glitz of the bigger churches but it's the one that has outlasted many attempts to close it and it's definitely the one that feels...More

Absolutely amazing place in the center of the city (very close to green bridge). Good to sit and contemplate in silence. Very friendly and helpful staff.

This church is a small one, just the other side of the main entrance of Gellert Spa. On weekdays it costs HUF 600 to enter. Worth visiting!

The church was worth the small fee to enter. Very clever use of space to build a church. Audio guide explained the history of the church.

Popped in this church as I noticed it in the rock from the outside. Entrance fee was 600 HUF and you get an audio tour included in the price. The tour took no more than 30-45 minutes and explained the history of the church. I...More

This is a great stop for a short tour. The whole thing (listening to the audio guide available in multiple languages) took about 45 minutes. It was beautiful, informative and perfect for a respite from the traffic and sounds of a large city like Budapest....More

I assumed it was a church built onto the rock, not into the rock. So was really pleased when we realised we could actually go in. The audio guide was really helpful. Such a peaceful place. Worth a visit if you're interested in religion/religious buildings.

Reopened in 1990 after being in disrepair since the 1950s, this "church in the rocks" is worthwhile to visit. It is contemplative and with English audio. But the additional reward for trekking up here is a great photo-op.
