What a quaint little church set inside a cave. Very interesting commentary to listen to as you walk round. Surprising how big inside set in lots of little alcoves in the rocks. Worth a look just out of curiosity and to see the wood carvings...More

We arrived later than we would normally have been allowed in, but the ticket seller man was very flexible and patient, as well as kind and polite with our group. The church itself is definitely worth visitng, the audio-guide system is well-working and the staff...More

We visited the cave church on our way up to Gellert Hill and I wasn’t expecting much, especially as the entrance fee was cheap and included an audio guide in English. The audio guide is informative and guides you around all the little ‘rooms’ of...More

I would recommend to visit the Cave Church on your way down from Gellert Hill. It's easy to visit the hill by using public tranportation. You can use bus 27 for example which stops 500m from the Citadel entrance. After your visit you can use...More

This was a unique place. I went on Dec 26 and no one was manning the window for tours but you could walk around and look. It’s worth going in and checking it out!

The rock church is actually a cave church. The walls of the several rooms are all natural rocks. At the entrance is a small platform, where is a statue of St Stephen with his horse. The unfortunate king has such an awful, booby face that...More

I'm not a fan of churches, but this one is rather unique and well worth a look round. Being built inside the cave is certainly something different. Headphones and an audio guide are provided should you want further information whilst inside.

Interesting place if you want to see the inside of a rock or learn intricate details of every stick of furniture in that place. However, if you want to know the history of the founding order or the story of the closure/reopening, read a guidebook....More
