It's closed :( And here's a typical Hungarian not used with tourist info, we were redirected toward another house wine who didn't exist anymore. Hungarian were trying to help, but the lack of written indication play against them sometimes!

We spent half an hour looking for the Royal Wine House at Buda Castle but could not find it. We eventually asked a local who told us it was now a Spy Museum - most dissapointing as we were looking forward to a wine tasting!

We visited at the end of the afternoon. I must say there is a LOT of information in the museum, which might be just a bit too much, lot's of plaquetes with loads anloads of texts of all kinds of wine regions and kinds of...More

We are serious wine collectors and expected a much more extensive tasting and greater value than was provided. For those who prefer to drink the wine rather than taste a number of varieties, I must say that the size of pourings was quite generous. We...More

Unimpressed. The cellars were not very interesting and the tastings were nothing special.

This museum is tucked away behind Buda Castle. One great thing about the Castle Hill is there are lots of little museums and interesting shops. One could spend the better part of a day just poking around the area. Once you reach the road behind...More

The historical center to a city with a multifarious
and intricate past, Buda has some of the most
outstanding buildings in Europe and an enviable
natural landscape with stunning views onto the Danube.
Centered around the Royal Palace, it provides a
glimpse into the golden years of the Austro-Hungarian
empire and the lives led by the aristocracy at the
time. Matthias Church, beside the palace, hosted many
