Our guide was Eva, as Zoltan was recovering from an accident. We wish him a speedy recovery. We were picked up from our hotel and right away we felt very comfortable. Eva made the whole of the tour so interesting, telling us all about the history, showing us all the best places to visit; and eat. She was so thoughtful... More

We booked Zoltan based on his trip advisor reviews and were not disappointed. He met us in our hotel lobby to plan our tour. We don't have one particular interest, we just wanted to get a feel for its history, see interesting sights and have our first trip to Budapest give us our bearings and to 'come alive'. Well Zoltan... More

Zoltan makes history come alive, and he did it for my school group for the 2nd year in a row. His personal experiences with the former Communist government and his explanations of the changes in Hungary since 1989 make these past events and present challenges real to my students. After teaching more than four decades, I have so much left... More

I would rather keep most of the journey secret as it was one of the greatest adventures I have ever had and would hate to spoil it for future people! Zoltan is one of the most fascinating and knowledgeable guides I have ever had and I highly recommend this tour to anyone!

My Mum and I were shown around Budapest by the lovely and knowledgeable Zoltan. Zoltan gave a 'warts and all' approach about the history and current political climate. It was very interesting and we learnt a lot about the history and saw some beautiful places. The Information provided would not be found on the 'usual' tours. It was a great... More

This was the perfect way to see Budapest for my other half and I! We had 4 hours with Zoltan today and it was amazing. His knowledge was second to none, no idea how he knew so much!!! We went and had some savoury pastries and a drink with him as well, he was so friendly and funny! We were... More

We are so lucky that Andrew had a tour cancel and he was able to show our party of 4 a superb tour of Budapest on short notice. There is a reason why this tour company has such wonderful reviews! Andrew acquainted us (all first timers) with Budapest on many levels - history , culinary, traditions/customs, architecture, religious influences, ethnic... More

First time in Budapest and we are in love with this city. Our tour guide Andrew gave a great blend of history, culture, food, architecture, and good company! We had a fantastic day and were sad to say goodbye. We book a tour in every city and this was one of our favorites. We will be telling our friends about... More

Zoltan was exactly what I was hoping for. He was knowledgeable, funny, interesting, and showed us little (and not so little) details that we never would have found on our own. He is a fascinating man with a fascinating story. We sat together before starting the day and laid out a plan and he made it all fit in half... More

Staying in District V / Inner City

Neighbourhood Profile
District V / Inner City
Discover the Inner City along the banks of the Danube, with its fashionable shops and iconic buildings. The Inner-City Parish Church and St. Stephen’s Basilica stand out as two of the finest examples of architecture in the area. If you are still hunting for more historical treats, then the ruins of the medieval city walls on Kecskeméti Utca are a must-visit while the Soviet War Memorial is also worthy of attention and relevant to Hungary’s more recent history. If shopping is on your itinerary, then be prepared: the market squares in this area are an absolute delight, particularly during the Christmas period, but even throughout the year you’ll find the latest trends in the shops on Vaci Utca.
