The Hospital in the Rock Nuclear Bunker Museum is a thrilling, unique and moving place. Visitors can learn about the WWII and the 1956 revolution as well as the Cold War in relation to this former TOP SECRET nuclear bunker. It had an important role during the war and it was classified until 2002 and opened as a museum in 2008. The place ensures a real time warp into the past. Mobiles are not working inside. Do not expect a regular museum. One hour long tour departs every hour in English. Guide books are available in several languages. Unforgettable experience underneath the Castle Hill. The entrance is only about 5 minutes walk from the famous Matthias-Church of Buda Castle.

By learning about the hospital during WW2 and the nuclear bunker it served during the cold war, you really get to learn about Budapest history. Also, the exhibition regarding the effects of nuclear weapons is touching.

This is an interesting museum. It was great to learn the history of the hospital and Budapest on the tour. Also a good way to cool off on a hot day.

Although we had to wait about 45 minutes for the next available tour, it was so worth it! Our tour guide Timi made everything so surreal it was like we teleported back to the 1950s. Best guide I've had so far!

Good tour and well informed guide - Steffi. Couldn't understand why 1/4 of tour was spent on nuclear bomb in Hiroshima in 2nd world war when we there to hear about Hungarian history

So glad I got to visit this place. You are taken on a tour through history to see how the hospital functioned. They've done a great job in reconstructing each part of the hospital. Well worth a visit!

A bit pricey, but well spent hour.... A times the wax fugures can be gruesome but over all a walk through history. Bring a sweater or use cloaks offered.

This was a great tour. You watch a short movie and then your tour guide takes you through the hospital and nuclear bunker. We were lucky to see the Hiroshima exhibit, too, which isn't a permanent exhibit. Interesting place and right by the Buda attractions.
