Stand out building

Building looks stunning and looks awesome when lit up at night. If you get a chance it looks even better at night looking at it from fishermans bastion.

Amazing building in a lovely setting and easy to get to on foot or by public transport. Beautiful by day and more so by night. Spent ages walking around it, looking at the surrounding statues and stayed to watch the changing of the guards

Steeped in history and stunning architecture. Situated on the banks of the Danube. Centrally located. Easy walk as there were no hills, although there were steps to negotiate as we had walked along the river.

Viking River Cruises does it right when it pictures this gorgeous building in its television ads. Whoever designed this thing must have been a pure genius. Pretty in the daytime, gorgeous at night.

Take a river cruise on the Danube at night. Beautiful sites. Have dinner at one of the restaurants on the Danube, follow it up with the river cruise.

The tour I took of parliament was a bit crowded but the individual headsets made listening to the guide a breeze. If you have the opportunity, take an evening boat cruise to see parliament from the water all lit up!

Amazing to see, all lit up in the evening. We took some of our best photos on a river cruise and the parliament is such an impressive building.

Outside of the Parliament is breathtaking. Was so glad to have the tour of the interior. Books fast so make sure to do online reservations. There are a few English speaking tour each day. Headsets used so it is easy to hear the guide. Interior filled with golden details. Also see the military guarded holy crown of Hungary, main staircase... More

Staying in District V / Inner City

Neighbourhood Profile
District V / Inner City
Discover the Inner City along the banks of the Danube, with its fashionable shops and iconic buildings. The Inner-City Parish Church and St. Stephen’s Basilica stand out as two of the finest examples of architecture in the area. If you are still hunting for more historical treats, then the ruins of the medieval city walls on Kecskeméti Utca are a must-visit while the Soviet War Memorial is also worthy of attention and relevant to Hungary’s more recent history. If shopping is on your itinerary, then be prepared: the market squares in this area are an absolute delight, particularly during the Christmas period, but even throughout the year you’ll find the latest trends in the shops on Vaci Utca.
