We were last in Budapest 5 years ago & were disappointed to find the Liszt Academy building under wraps & being restored. They’ve done a great job! The Art Nouveau building is now very fine indeed & certainly bears comparison with the State Opera House...More

Beautiful interior that's been recently renovated. Walked up 15 minutes before the 1:30pm English language tour and had no problem buying a ticket. Had an impromptu recital from one of the students and then saw the main concert hall. The content felt a bit light...More

We went to a concert the same day we arrived. What a perfect way to start our holidays. The place is fantastic full of details in the decoration. The acustics are great and we enjoyed very much the concert.

Went to hear a concert of a graduating student. Loved the building in every aspect (highly unusual decorative architectural style of 1900-s) and enjoyed the nusical standard. Deplorable attitude: went in a group of 3 each around 80 years old, in pouring rain. Tried to...More

One of the top venues in Budapest, mainly for classical music. The exterior is beautiful to see – look out for the statue of Liszt sitting proudly above the portico - and the interior even better, with the entrance areas adorned with secessionist frescoes. The...More

A wonderful building full of history and great stories told by extremely able guides ( in different languages) in a very well organised and entertaining way. All topped off with a short song on the marble steps.

This is a gem of a building. Sumptuous Art deco greets you in the beautiful foyer with the Box Office just on the right. A stunning building with music coming out of it's walls!!! The building houses 2 concert halls, The Grand Hall and the...More

Outstanding example of Hungarian Art Nouveau/Jugendstil. Visits are held daily at 1.30 pm and led in English. The guided tour shows you the concert hall and the foyers. A meeting with a conservatory student who plays for the public is redundant. All in all a...More

The performance we wish to attend is sold out. What are the chances that last -minute tickets become available or that there are people selling tickets on the street before a performance?

Hi, my husband and I will be visiting Budapest for the first time 19th to 23rd May. Love the idea of going to a concert in the FL Academy! Would it be OK to just pop in? or would we be safer to book tickets in advance? If better to book in advance, how do I go about it? Also, the baths? Are they open to the public? Can you decide to get in if you are simply passing by or is it set times only?.......not for me - he'd love it! Thank you.

We bought our tickets for the FL Academy at the Academy's box office the night of the performance we saw (just an hour ahead of time), and the prices were incredibly reasonable.
