Worth the visit. I wouldn't go to Budapest just for this but if in the area a must see. Can get busy at some points during the week, so if you are visiting mid week you will have no problem.

Tip: You could avoid the queue for the funicular by taking walking path on the left hand side. You will get lifts also so unless you really want funicular for the experience, you can save time and money by using the walking path. Nice architecture,...More

I visited the citadel twice , one in daylight and another visit at night . It is a place deserve to visit . I enjoyed the history of Budapest and the citadel. The most beautiful view of Budapest is from this place. There are Many...More

The citadel has a great view and was a good place to start our Budapest trip. I recommend waiting until the top to stop for pictures.

This was a decent climb from Gellert hill but worth the steps for the views of the city. Plenty to see

Everyone should go and enjoy the views. You will enjoy every single views up there. Going there and walking down from the hill in other season would be nice.

On the short walk up to the Citadel you will find incredible views of the city. At the top, the great views continue. Several impressive statues greet you as well.

Is is a smaller fortress that you would expect, never the less is a nice place to visit, and if you decide to descend through the park to the Chain Bridge, you will see the St. Gellert Statue too.
