Shops, Cafes

Sophisticated shops and classy cafes with tables on the street characterise the iconic shopping street of Budapest. Well worth a stroll.

This avenue was near our hotel and we walked its full length several times to get into town and back again although you can get the metro for about $1. It is interesting with many places like the house of Terror and the Opera house on it and there are many side streets that are interesting to wander down. Nearer... More

Budapest exceeded our expectations --- it is a city that is still rough around the edges, in transition, but that's what makes it interesting. Andrassy Avenue was possibly the most interesting street... filled with cafes, museums, history.

You may take a walk via Andrassy Avenue from Vajdahunyadvar to the River side. There is so many impressive buildings there - e.g.: Opera. Even that I had my walk while it was raining, I truly enjoy it.

Described to us as the Champs Elysee of Budapest, Andrassy Avenue is a great place to stroll along, even when its cold and wet. There are loads of lovely shops, cafes, restaurants and bars. Lovely little side streets criss-cross Andrassy Avenue and these are also worth exploring.

Gorgeous wide avenue full of attractions at each step. The architecture of the buildings along the avenues is magnificent. It's quite long, so I recommend taking one of the touristic buses to appreciate the avenue from all points of views, and step down to take walks at your points of interests.
