Just roamed around the bride and river central Budapest. It’s wonderful place to roam. If you are taking a day long tour better take hop on hop off service.

Elisabeth Bridge is a relatively new bridge of Budapest, over the narrowest part of the Danube. it is named after the Queen of Budapest and Austrian Empress Elisabeth (Sissi). We particularly liked the fact that though this is a very busy bridge they ensured that...More

Originally built as a decorative suspension bridge of chains in 1903, it was like all the bridges over the river Danube destroyed by the retreating German army. Unfortunately, it was the only bridge in Budapest which could not be rebuilt in its original form. The...More

I like Elizabeth Bridge. Its simple cleansing forms, as it overlays the Danube with a single dynamic arc, and as the white bridge is reflected in the blue Danube. Other ones can be fancier, or more spectacular, but she is my favorite.

Visited on Sunday 8th October, there are numerous bridges over the Danube, all have their own style and this one is no different. Best viewed lit up at night.

Nothing spectacular about this bridge, except that it has great city views of Budapest and it crosses the Danube river and it was named after Elisabeth of Bavaria. Architecturaly the Chain bridge is a much nicer bridge.

The Elisabeth Bridge was named after the late 19th century Hungarian Queen Elisabeth. It’s the shortest of the 4 bridges across the Danube linking Buda’s Gellert neighborhood and Pest’s 5th district.

Magnificent views day or night, a good landmark for keeping your bearings in Budapest. Close to the cruise ship docking points.

The tour guide pointed at that all the bridges were destroyed during WW2 and this is a rebuild. That said, its a really nice looking bridge.
