If you are in the area and visiting the nearby castle then walk over to this hooded statue. Quick trip and photo op.

This is an imposing statue opposite the Vajdahunyad castle. It's dark and brooding and very photogenic. Not to be missed.

Just visit due to other attractions nearby. The place where it is situated is beautiful attached with museum.

This was very unusual statue and it was quite interesting, because it's different from the others around the city and a little bit spooky.

It was easy to see and didn't know about it until we were at the castles. I enjoyed as it was not anything like all the other statues that you typically see in the area.

It reminded me of Il Comendatore, in Prague. This one also has a mysterious atmosphere, especially in cloudy days. Kind of a different attraction, though, since it doesn't represent politicians or famous people. Still crowded with tourists anyway.

Directly opposite the entrance of the Vajdahunyad Castle. Behind Heroes' monument, across the bridge and on your right. Walk down the path toward the castle and you will see it. Although there are many theories, no one knows who it is as the hood is pulled over the face. An interesting statute dedicated to the literary world. Make sure to... More

The unnamed French cleric ( or so it is theorized) who wrote the Hungarian Gesta in the 13th century. Many theories abound about him and his work is the first Hungarian history.
