When the opportunity arises, I like to walk around cities I am visiting without any set agenda or objective in mind. When doing this, there are often instances of serendipity. This was the case when walking around the back of the Parliament Buildings and encountering...More

It's a statue in a park. Europe has a lot of these. I think this one relates to an uprising that was not successful. It's ok. Not worth going out of the way for.

You must read about mire Nagy. Buried face down in disrespect. This monument helps restore his history.

Very interesting statue especially as it represents a very significant part of 20th century history. Also situated in a very significant area with parliament nearby and the Ronald Reagan statue and the controversial eagle statue.Much to think about

Who would want to have a mediocre statue commemorating them and become a climbing frame for foreign tourists? Poor Imre Nagy, a true communist, a pechvogel, and a victim in more than one way, has to endure this in the heart of Budapest.

This memorial of Nagy, a key leader in the failed 1956 Hungarian Revolution, is small yet nice. Made from metal, it is a statue of him on a small bridge over a pool. He is facing in the direction of Parliament and it makes for...More

Walking back towards our hotel from the Parliament building we noticed an unusual monument in a park area on a bridge it is certainly interesting and easy to access from by Parliament.
