This is more a review for the public transport because I can imagine people get scared away by the trouble they have to go to. We were staying in Buda so we walked to the chain bridge and bought a 72 hour ticket from the purple machine. It's relatively inexpensive and it DOES NOT need validating which helps tourists, this... I'm a flea market/antique show nut, and when in Europe I always make a point to visit shops or markets. My first trip to Budapest in 2014 I didn't have the right directions and got off the metro 3 at Ecseri and was nowhere close, so back to Budapest I went. I was there again last Saturday and determined this... More

Fun spot outside of downtown. From what we read Saturday is the best day, it was full of vendors. Many vendors start to pack up around noon so best to go early. When you get off the bus there is no sign to direct you, so look behind you and take the bridge over the highway. The return bus is... More

I have been here four times, each time I go to Budapest, and I've always left with something I treasure. Sure, there are fakes and yes, there are Nazi and Soviet artifacts that most would find offensive (Hey, this is not your country or culture, so calm down. We all loathe Nazis and fully understand what the symbols mean. No... More

I just add to a previous review ..So many people visit in the week .Do'nt !!! Saturday is the day when the place is fully occupied otherwise you will be disappointed .Try to find your way on public transport .All part of the adventure.... It is nothing like the great flea markets in Paris and London..but is worth a visit..

Just outside the city centre is Esceri flea market - here you will find a huge choice of antiques and collectable items from Russian badges, retro furniture and a whole host of collectable items. Outside the main city area - so either take to bus number 54 from Borarass Ter or take a taxi about £14 from city centre. Well... More

This place was suggested by my brother and I was not expecting much. But when I saw that memories can be sold in the form of helmets, porcelains, paintings, jewellery, coins, bullets... lots of history, memories, nostalgia, a curiousity to know the truth have emerged inside me. I think that one can travel within the flea bazaar for hours and... More

So we went on a quiet Monday morning...thankfully! It was stressful enough haggling with people in Hungarian, which I don't speak. The people were kind and helpful and we found a lot of great stuff. However, there were some merchants selling iron crosses and swastikas. I could not tolerate dealing with people that would traffic in that "memorabilia". If you... More

I had always wanted to visit the flea market in Budapest heard it was THE place to go, so headed off there last week. I found it to be the absolute pits! We got a taxi as its pretty far from town, the taxi cost £15 one way, we did get the bus back about £2! But hey ho it... More
