The Basilica is such a beautiful part of the Catholic Religion! You should see it if you are around the area, even if you have different believes. But do not forget to wear comfy shoes, and even if you get tired, do not give up, at the end you will have such an amazing view, you will forget any pain... More

The basilica is a huge building built in a classicistic style. The construction began in 1822 and was completed in 1856. It was built on the foundations of several old buildings. In the basilica there is a famous organ with huge organ pipes. Listening to an organ concert in the basilica is a remarkable event. I recommand it to everybody.

Art on walls and ceilings is spectacular. The size reminds me of the pantheon in Rome. If you have some spare time then visit. Not in top of list.

Esztergom Basilica on Castle Hill is a breathtaking structure seen from many different angles, including a superb view from the River Danube if you happen to be on a boat trip (which would be recommended if you get a chance) Its the seat of the Catholic Church in Hungary, and with the Castle next door, plus a historical area below... This building is spectacular - viewing at night adds to the majesty and you can only wonder how much it intimidated the heathens across the river

This is one of the most interesting cathedral in Hungary with rich history behind. It's quite close to Budapest so it's easy to reach and really worth to visit. Please take care about the opening hours.

we visited this church in the winter and because of the intense snow the panorama was closed. but still the building by itself is impressive indoors and outdoors and the entrance for this was free. the view though on the back of the church was something unique with the river and the bridge. definitely deserves the visit. also highly suggest... Ornate, neo classical style, worth a visit to see the huge dome plus the great views. It is the centre of the Hungarian Catholic church. Buy joint tickets to all you want to see and it is cheaper.
