Maybe it’s not the most beautiful one of the Hungarian Synagogues, but it has a unique and diverse history. I like the Friday’s service. The jewish community is a very convergent posse.

Pecs synagogue is really interesting on a couple of levels. The building in worth a visit on its own merits and then another level is the history of the local Jewish community in the 19th century and the tragic 20th century history.

It is obvious from the size and opulence of the synagogues in all the major cities of Hungary that the Jews formed a large, powerful and influential community. Hungary has some of the largest and most beautiful synagogues I have ever seen in the world....More

One of few synagogues that can be visited, as it's only rarely used due to small size of local jewish community. There is also an exhibition on the 1st floor included in the price worth to see to learn the history of the local community.
