Though you can enter the Castle from Óváros Square via the Heroes' Gate, it was not part of the medieval castle. It originates from 1936 (restored in 2013) - commemorating the victims of World War I. In its exhibition, you cannot only learn about the...More

Basically the veszprem village offers a vintage traditional feel based on Christian rule. However, during our April visit the town was dead and empty, similarly for other famous veszprem villages

At the Var you can see several things in one visit. This is by the castle and fire tower. Several places to walk and have great views.

I believe that the interesting thing behind is the history of the place, the gate itself is normal, nothing wonderful. This gate will take you to the history of this area in Veszprem. You can park your car just at the small square before the...More

It was built memorating the victims of WW I. There is an exhibition inside about the heroes of important wars in history, there is a terrace to provide a view of the city and a small present shop attached to it.

The gate has historical value to the Castle but is a reproduction. It is really not significient by itself it is everything you see on the Hill that makes this so worthwhile. This should not be separated out from the Castle Hill site.

This is the entrance to the Castle Hill. It is a reconstructed or newly built gate, nothing special.

This is a large gate and the first thing you see entering the old city of Veszprem. It is majestic in size.

This gate should be part of the Castle hill on this site as it is not an attraction on itself. Merely the entrance gate to the castle hill square.
