During summer there is historical festival in the old town and also in the castle

Nice castle with a beautiful view. There is also an old church close to the castle and nice restaurant right under castle with excellent food.

We had only 1 hour stop in Trencin city and this castle was clear choice. It is so big dominant of the city we could not miss it. Despite the fact we had only very short time we enjoyed it. There are 3 different circles for the visitors out of which way A is the most "free" one. We enjoyed... More

Third largest Castle in Slovakia. Mostly in ruins but enough refurbishment to let you see what the Castle was like when it was operational. Most tours are only in Slovak. They provide an English guidebook but it mostly repeats what is on the walls as you tour the castle. My guide did provide some English translation for me. A number... More

This castle impressed us a lot with its history and stories that happened there. Some parts can be very strong for the most sensitive ones if you realize what happened there few centuries ago, It's defitnetely a must!

Really enjoyed walking around the ruins of this castle only thing is shame about the tours not being in English otherwise would have been worth the money

this is the best spot where you have to go if you are seeking great photos in trencin. morning time is less busy. it closes around sundown, make sure to dedicate 2 to 3h to go through the whole castle.

The Castle view from the road is impressive. So is the way climbing up the hill to the site gate. To enter inside the castle walls and visit the museum you have to buy the guided tour ticket. The tour is in Slovak language only.....??... !! From the top hill there is a nice panorama of the city.

Walked up here and paid the €2 entry to see the grounds. Nicely restored exterior gives you a sense of what it might have been like. Nice place for a picnic!

The castle is nice and impressive on the outside, there is not that much inside, but to get in, you will have to take the tour. I recommend Tour C (which includes A and B). I speak Czech and understand Slovak, so language was not a problem for me, my husband got a laminated text in English. His comment was... More
