Beautiful city gate

When visiting they were very busy restoring the outside of the Church. Hope that they will move inside as well. Very dilapidated and in need of repair. It was actually good to see this in contract to the other Churches in the old town.

Making our way up to Aušros vartai, we passed this beautiful gate, and decided to explore what was behind it. When we came out on the other side, I thought I was in a fairy tale. Snow White and her dwarfs could have lived here. There are huge trees, and very, very old houses. We saw some construction going on,... More

The Basilian gate is eye catching but the church is in need of huge renovation, and there are few interesting articles inside,

Located somewhat off the street in an old neighbourhood. One walks through the gate (which is located on the street) to get to the church and monstery. It was a disappointment to me because the church was closed (and should have been open). Outside is nice, but not spectacular, compared to some other churches in Vilnius

You can't miss this gate. If you walk in the old town you will find the gate in front of you eventually. The church is old and unmaintained so if you don't visit it, it's ok! You don't miss anything.

I was not impressed by the church although it is an old one, but the gate was nice to see and photograph. The whole visit can be for about 15 minutes.

The Basilian Gates are located between the Philharmonic and the Gates of Dawn. Here it is evident that money is not enough for restoration of Vilnius all different churches. The Holy Trinity Church originally dates from 1514. The church is a complete mess inside, almost completely empty with the exception of some wonderful, barely visible frescos both inside and out The service... More

The gate is nice to see and take a picture at. Nothing special about the church. Might be worth a quick visit if you have the time.
