It is called Zaliasis Tiltas (Green Bridge), because it is green. They had soviet statues on it as well, but now they are taken off. Local people have divided opinions about these statues. And actually there is nothing more special about this bridge.

This is one of Vilnius bridges. Its architecture is not very impressive and original. This is not a new bridge. A comparison and it is not a big bridge. Now a lot of talk about it because of the Soviet era who stood by his sculptures. This is the same as the monuments to Lenin.

I’m writing this review as information to my readers, old and new. As I predicted in an earlier review this year the statues are now gone. When you’re visiting Vilnius and Žaliasis Tiltas from now (21 of July 2015) on, it is not possible to find the 63 years old bridge statues any longer. They were made by the two... More

A Soviet era bridge in the center of Vilnius. Each corner of the bridge has a statue from olden times and there has even been arguments for removing the statues altogether. Fortunately this didn't pass, so the statues will stay as part of the history. Under the bridge there is a newer "artwork" of metallic rings. The bridge gathers "love... More

This bridge over Neris with its dense traffic has four rusty statues from the Soviet occupation. The last year the Red Army soldiers symbolically have been looking into a big NATO flag and the workers into the same size Vytis flag (the White Knight, the Lithuanian Republic coat of arms). Perhaps you have to hurry up to see this statues... More

I've been there 2 times (end of the May and in February). And I can make one recommendation - if you want to visit such places - visit them in Spring/Summer, because in February - impressions are not so great.

This quite not so beautiful but very important bridge gives it's most at sunset, so it's when I advise you to take a look. Worth to see.

On a cold day, grab a cuppa hot steaming drink/coffee and just walk by the river bank upto Zaliasis Tiltas or just enjoy the weather by the bench. I wouldnt call it a must see but if your visiting the old town, make sure u walk by to take in the intricate and beautiful art of metal.

This is a nice bridge, especially at night. Not really a "must" to visit though. It has 4 bronze sculptures on the each corner of bridge which might attract western tourists, but for local citizens they symbolize nothing, but misery and bad memories.
