The city of Jurmala is like a window directed to the sunshine in comparison with the rest of the country. Dozens of kilometres of nice sandy beaches. Many resorts. It is surprise that prices for accommodation is so high in the country where the most of people are getting average salary 500-700 EUR per hand.

I got the train from Riga to Majori which took around thirty minutes and was easy and very cheap. The walk to the beach took about ten minutes, it was very cold and almost deserted but the sandy beach looked clean and you can imagine it being busy in the summer. It was worth the trip just to see a bit of Latvia outside if Riga.

Jurmala beach is nice place and shallow for the kids. Jurmala beach is perfect place with small kids. Only thing what I expected at the beach was beach chairs. There was only few beach chair rentals and they are extremly pricey.

Nice long sandy beach on the Baltic sea. We saw people playing sports such as volleyball and football. Nice family place as lots of people where there with their children. Lots of people were sunbathing. They have a lot of small bars on the beach as well as food places. I thought the prices where reasonable as we bought drinks and food in two different kiosks on the beach.
