It's free (hooray!) with a tip if you feel they did a good job (which our guide definitely did). Lots of interesting tidbits of history, super informative. Very enjoyable.

Love walking tours by local guides and this free tour (voluntary tip) was excellent. Our guide Kaspars was interesting, full of knowledge and with a great sense of humour. The tour (about 2 hours) goes mostly outside of the Old town so gives a different perspective of Riga. Well worth the tip at the end and thoroughly recommended.

We were expecting a tour of the old town but our guide Agita explained before we set off that we would be leaving the old town to find out more about Riga. The next 2 1/2 hours turned out to be so interesting and informative that we would highly recommend this tour. (There is also a tour of the old... More

Goes from in front of St Peters Church 12.00. Lasts for about 2 and 3/4 hours. Informative on a historic background point of view and good to get a grasp of Riga. It was -6 when we did it, bloody cold. Our guide Kaspers was sensitive to this and he incorporated a couple of coffee stops in to the walk.

We did this tour with three of my friends last week in Riga. Our guide was Toms, he was really nice, told us interesting stories and helped make this tour very interactive. 5/5 would do again.

Starts at 12.00, brief overview of the history and all the top sights. Excellent trip, one of the best guides we have ever had. Gave us good tips on where to eat and drink and other attractions around the city of interest.

As others have said this tour which starts at 1200 starts in the old town and then is primarily based outside the old town. You get info about and see places that you might not have otherwise and we really enjoyed it. Arturs was a great guide and we would definitely recommend it. We also took the old town tour... More

Don't do this tour if you want to be shown around the Old Town. Instead it gives you an insight into what Riga is really like. We did it on a freezing cold January day, the tour was interesting if slightly rushed.

Not too long a walk, and not every sight seen, but an excellent guide and an all-round good experience. Recommended if you don't mind a few slippery streets in winter. Hope Thomas's tip was enough !
