Very good. Very informativ. Extremly important that we learn about these things. It takes appr 1 hour if you listen through. It is really horrifying what happend in 1941. It is also very important to get the historical facts around. It is very well spendera 1 hour.

The museum itself is very educational and well worth a visit. They have turned a very small space into an excellent exhibition. However upon arrival we were met by a very intimidating staff member who found us (3 Irish girls in our 20s) suspicious. He proceeded to check on us at several points which made us all feel uncomfortable and... More

Dear Aisling F, we apologize for the accident. On Sunday we had a big group of foreign students visiting, who have applied through the special list, and who were coming exactly around the time you attended, c. 14:00. So probably the security mistook you for someone from the group, and as you were not on the list, were acting according... More

We found this after going to the KGB building. Both Jews and non-Jews need to visit this museum. It really shows the atrocities that took place with respect to the Latvian Jews, and to learn that it was actually the Latvians who forced the Jews into the synagogue and burnt it down is beyond words. There is no cost but... More

We visited this museum during a special appointment and met with their directors in order to discuss Holocaust history as it pertained to a particular Latvian family during WWII. Even though incredibly busy, both of these lovely people took the time to answer all of our questions and help us with our historical search. The exhibits were so informative and... More

Another very good example of what Latvian Jews have had to ordeal throughout their history. You should take time to visit this sobering museum and learn from the mistakes of others.

This a must for all people of this world to respect what others went through because of religion and creed. Another country that suffered because of an illiterate few , lets all live in peace for the sake of generations to come ! Entrance is free and you are supplied free an MP3 player , make time to go.

This museum has a great display of the history of the Jews in Latvia, and their contributions to Latvian society. Unfortunately the history of the Jews in Latvia is overshadowed by the horrors of the Holocaust. And the museum does not shy away from the details of those years. But it is a lovely building, now the Jewish community center,... More

Hidden away almost...with a great story behind it is a greatly preserved synagog. The decorations and paint looks like real new, and it is worth to read the story behind it as well! Worth seeing!

Expect strong security when you enter. The free museum itself is on the second floor. There are free audio guides offered as well. We spent a good 1.5 hours here to hear and read the very well-researched history of Jews in Latvia. The section on WWII and the Latvian ghetto is just heart-breaking.
