First of all, I must warn you to disregard reviews like badkingjones'. I must react, because this is the second I've read which doesn't come even close to truth, so I wonder if he was there at all??? We were 3 days in Riga, and there's nothing bad I can say about this beautiful city and its people (no drugs,... More

One of the most stunning churches I have ever been to. Best thing to do is just sit down when you get in and soak up the building, paintings and items within the building.

The building is beautifully designed and truly a sight to behold, but quite difficult to photograph! From the side, the view is obscured by trees, and from the front the main road is too close to allow a decent shot. There's no photography permitted inside the building and guests are requested to dress respectfully - even offering ladies head scarves... More

No visit to Riga would be complete without entering this amazing building! You cannot but marvel at the beauty of the murals and icons. I found it profoundly emotional listening to the priest conducting a service whilst lighting candles for my late parents. (something I do in any city in the world I visit)

There are no pictures of the interior allowed, so observe closely. The icons are breathtaking and the gold frames and gold furnishings will leave you with your mouth open. It is a scared place and one can not help but be overcome by that feeling. I witnessed Russian Orthodox men and women paying respects to a deceased member of the... More

The most attractive building in my opinion of the whole city. Beautiful outside for lots of photos but the trees do get in the way. Very nice inside too but you've probably seen better, it's free so worth a visit as you are passing by.

This cathedral is not a museum, but a well used place of worship. Whilst the interior, like the exterior, is stunning it must be respected as a place of worship. That said, it is a wonderful place to visit: the icons, statues, etc are of the highest quality.

The interior of the church is wonderful, you can see that the architects put a lot of love into the place and you will surely enjoy the silence and appreciate the beauty.
