We walked right by the building as it looked like any normal building. Once inside, we did the tour and the male guide had been interviewed twice in the building. He had great stories and it very interesting. They put 5 guys in small cell...More

This is a museum experience that leaves a deep impression upon you. It tells the harrowing story of the thousands of Latvians who suffered at the hands of KGB and the NAZIS. This is a story that needs to be told and the museum does...More

Good knowledgable guides. They advised that this building will be closing sometimes within the next 18 months so make sure you visit when there and double check the times for the guided tour in your language. Very thought provoking.

We stopped at the KGB museum on a recommendation and it was very interesting. Unfortunately we missed the last guided tour so we just did it ourselves. But just reading about the history and realising how recent it all is was quite an eye opener....More

The guide really made this tour. He had himself been interrogated there in the 1980s, and he had a dramatic and, at times, humorous delivery. What a chilling chapter from not-to-distant history. It’s amazing how far this little country has rebounded.

Mistakenly we booked online for the Latvian tour but were amazed that our fellow group of latvian’s agreed for our benefit to have the tour in English. Just one example of the kindness and hospitality we have experienced in Riga. The tour itself was very...More

A very thought provoking tour, with an excellent guide. We mistakenly booked a tour in Latvian. The tour guide and fellow tourists decided to take the tour in English for us. Visit soon as it’s being closed in September 2018 with no information on what’s...More

I had only heard about the KGB but didn’t really know much about them. The horrifying tales told in this museum will leave you shocked and appalled this was going on. You go with a guide for 5€ thru the cells and exercise yard even...More
