This is a wealthy merchant's house that dates from 1695. It has the layout and furnishings from the family who lived there and tells something of their history. If you like to see how people lived in the places where you visit, this house is...More

The place has been restored carefully and contains furnishings and crafts. Of note are the naive frescoes and the large money changers table with a built in edge to keep the coins from dropping.

This is where the rating system falls down a bit - three stars seems a bit harsh, but it's neither big enough or has enough exhibits to give four. It's interesting, reveals what it was like for merchants to live in Riga a couple of...More

The Mentzendorff House, with its 17th–18th century atmosphere, is the only museum of its kind in the Baltics. The museum introduces visitors to the traditions of a wealthy Rigan’s household.
