We visited the salt mines on our final day in Kraków. It is a really interesting tour, a lot of walking which was a bit tough at the end of a long week of walking but the guide was very good. I'd like to go back and do the miners tour as this was the part I found most interesting.

It's not very difficult to get to the Salt Mines on your own, although it might be daunting to some. I picked a cold rainy day for this activity. At the main train station in Krakow I followed the signs to the ticket office (kasa). I had the name of the station, Wieliczka Rynek, written down and showed it to... More

Summary: Highly Recommend! Booking: Recommend buying tickets online to secure a spot at a time slot that suits you, but I did see a lot of people buying tickets in the box office at the Mines too, so you're probably ok to do this. The Tour: You will be walking for 2-3 hours in total, with a few breaks (where... More

Very nice tour interesting, educational and lots of beautiful sculptures. The shops down stairs in the salt mines are very good value and a great place to get presents. We paid to get a sticker to say we could take photos in the lower levels but seen plenty of people taking photos without any permit.

Visited the salt mine for an organised tour during my stay in krakow. I really didn't know what to expect, but wow!! The place is amazing and so much better than I thought it would be! Our tour guide was Amazing, so friendly and chatty and really made the experience. The while tour lasted around 4 hours, this includes travel... More

We visited the Salt Mine unsure of what is was going to be like. I am so glad we visited this amazing place. The detail of the carvings and sculptures and the history of the mine is incredible! The tour guide was amazing, very informative and funny... i am unsure of how you spell her name (Katalina i think!) but... More

Got the train from krakow glowny.. almost missed the stop as it isn't very clear!! 5 min walk up to the salt mine from the station. Don't bother wasting money on a tour as it is dead simple to get public transport there. We had a small group tour and it was really great! Bought some salt and spent a... More

The mines are nice, we had a double trip booked to Auschwitz and then here. I would strongly recommend not undertaking this tour at the salt mines after visiting Auschwitz - i think this was part of the problem as you are too tired. If mines and undergood things are you thing you might enjoy it, for me personally it... More

I was with a group and had a private tour and dinner in the mine. This place is unbelievable! It is massive and they have done a nice job preserving it. Some of the areas are truly breathtaking. We didn't have to deal with the crowds, but I can imagine it can get a bit packed during peak times. Our... More
