Lovely place but was too quiet for me, good place for older people if you don't mind walking a fair distance to the shops. Also good for hikers and nature watchers

A lovely sandy beach with views of the little lighthouses. Makes for a nice stroll and plenty of fish in the sea. Refreshment facilities close by.

Golden sands and blue water. Unspoilt scenery. A lovely spot to pass an afternoon. Ferry from Tavira is quick and cheap. Only two euro return

....but in season the sort of place I’d personally avoid, not being a beach person or sun-worshipper! The best thing about it was the inexpensive and interesting ferry trip there and back. Look out for egrets, flamingoes and stilts among others & hundreds of cormorants.

A very nice beach where you can find a bit privacy. Bring your own parasol, because there is no shadow. There are plenty of restaurants close to the beach

Lovely day out going to this beach. I believe the ferry gets very busy in summer. Nice food places to eat. Enjoy.

PS: yes, as other reviewer has said, the tiny ferry runs all the time from Quatras Aguas - winter and summer. But the town centre ferry - that goes up the river before crossing the sea stretch to the island - is definitely... More

It is a 25 min walk from downtown. The tourist train/bus that drives through the city all the time is going there as well....
