Great beach

Nice beach only 15 mins out of town . Good to relax for a day. Plenty of sun lounges and drinks and food available.

If you want to swim in calm waters in a public beach setting with minimal hotel crowds this is it. I read that Playa Ancon had a sand fly issue, but this was not the case during our stay. It boasts a walkable seemingly endless shoreline. It is low keyed and definitely caters to families.

Nice beach with public access. A number of hotels line the beach and although we didn't try it, i expect each would provide food and beverages. Scuba diving available at the beach too.

We biked towards Playa Ancon and decided to stop at one of the smaller areas of beach instead. As a tourist, you pay CUC 1 to use the area which has straw parasols for shade. We were warned to leave before sunset as the bugs can get rather nasty at dusk! TIP: Biking the approx. 12km from Trinidad may no... More

Its a lovely sand beach with a good view but the water is chilly, there is no fresh water showers and the bars are hopeless.

Spent the day here. Great sand with shade (if wanted) under the tree behind the beach or (hired) beach palm covered parasols.

unspoilt, quiet, dreamy playa Ancon. Leave before the sunset sand flies. Bath in the crystal clear water. Make the effort to walk away from the crowds at the hotels towards the makeshift restaurant further up the beach

This beach was terrific! Our kids played in the water while we lounged in the shade from the mango trees. The sand is really soft. Very clean. Easy 15 min taxi from Trinidad. Very relaxing.

Nice to relax at the beach, but that is it. The beach is next to big hotels right at the beach. At sunset the sandflies are terrible. We have had better beaches at Cayo Jutias (north of Vinales) and even at playa Giron.

Clean beach, amazing water, peaceful place to relax. No hawkers hassling you to buy their wares. There's a bar where you can get drinks and snacks. Sun umbrellas available. When we visited (December) there were very few other people. You need to cycle (its not far) or catch a taxi from town to get there.
