great site

Nice adventure to get to the waterfalls and a great place to take pictures. Wear good foot ware so you don't slip. The guide was helpful and full of knowledge.

We took the tour up to the falls. The drive in the Jeep was great love the country side and the scenery. We did the shorter walk down to the falls, the other route would be about 1hr. there is a natural spring/pool where you can swim in and able to go by the waterfall to take pictures.

We travelled here with 4 adultas and one child: 3x50+ Year olds, 19 and 12 year old. This was an absolutely amazing excursion! Carlos, our guide was very knowledgeable and patient. Breathtaking views surrounded by nature. It was a bit treacherous getting into the water for some of us older ones, but the younger did just fine! The meal was... More

If I were to suggest any attraction to anybody, out of all the places in the world I have been - would be here. This is such a hidden gem, and if Cuba had the market for it, this would be a TOP tourist attraction, I am so glad I got to experience this before this can happen. I have... More

I went on day trip from Guardalavaca with 3 other tourists in 2 x 4WD Suzuki jeeps & it took 1 hour to get there. My driver/guide had very good English & loved to talk about his culture, country & surprisingly politics! he doesn't like the Castros & the whole way of life & suppression in Cuba, he was very... Visited here as part of a tour and were looking forward to swimming in the waterfall. Unfortunately there had been heavy rain prior to our visit and the water was more a raging torrent and orange in colour, so not very inviting. The guide was very informative and showed us the best view points and educated us about the flowers... More

We took Grand Safari offered by Thomas Cook. It wasn't quite safari - two main stops - Castro House and Guayabo Waterfall. Waterfall was beautiful and we had a swim there. Our guide dhowed us different plant species and was very knowledgeable. He also told that he can guide to the bottom of the fall and tropical forest, but unfortunately... More

We took a jeep safari to the national park, you have the option to take a guided trek to the bottom but this is not for the faint hearted as it is an hour down and two hours back up, as we had our ten year old with us we opted for the shorter tour. We were taken to 2... More

The Salto de Guayabo waterfall is located near the town of Mayari, inside a national park. You can hire a taxi (like we did) but the access road is unforgiving and a 4x4 would be far better suited. There is a 5 pesos (cuc) fee per person to visit the falls. Big plus: nothing is built anywhere around the waterfalls,... More
