I cannot express how beautiful the views are on the Apache Trail through the mountains. THAT SAID: if you are nervous driver, go elsewhere. My husband drove and I often just closed my eyes as the single lane, dirt path (but graded) was failry intense....More

This area is off the beaten path, but well worth the drive. There are a couple of tourist attractions, but on a whole it seemed only locals hiked these trails. These are some of the prettiest areas & so quiet and peaceful. There are various...More

Ok, first of all I love this little section of Superstition Mountain. We paid I believe 21.00 for the tour - DON'T DO IT! Just pay for the train ride. Overall I enjoyed the conductor, the giant birdcage, the school, church, and jail. I also...More

I visited during the Fourth of July week when it was well over 110 degrees. I completed the entire Apache Trail but was driving a Jeep. I can defiantly say do not drive past tortilla flats if you do not have a Off road type...More

Spent a few days in Gold Canyon. The highlight was hiking the trails on Superstition Mountain. The trails were in great shape and the hike itself was one that everyone could enjoy. It was challenging enough for my teenagers and yet my 75 year old...More

Awesome scenery, changes around every corner , from lots of saguaros, to cholla cacti, to just rocks. A must to do if in Mesa .

visited Superstitution Mtn museum which was interesting history of area. It is small but well worth the time. There is what is left of a western town used for movies. Also a really well done train display out doors showing many western scenes,

What an incredible drive! Miles and miles of winding roads with incredible views ! Well worth the trip. We went as far as Tortilla Flats which is where the roads become in paved and rough. There are plenty of areas to pull off for photos....More

Don't bother with that hike. Do the Siphon Draw trail up the northwest side all the way to the Flatiron and then take a left all the way to the top. If you are in real good shape, you can be up and down in four hours. But... More
