It was so beautiful and the trees were massive, but most of the road was closed because there was a marathon of some sort! We were very disappointed and a bit bummed out but my advice is to check the dates you wanna go and...More

That's how long we were there. On a motorcycle trip we decided to take the ride through. Not one disappointment at all. Will definitely be back to do it again.

Unless you are in a desperate hurry, this 30 mile stretch of alternative route is the only way to go. Small villages dot the Redwood forest as the road meanders through these majestic giants. Fantastic - even in the pouring rain!

Must see State Park. Visiting this, or probably any other Redwood forest gives you a good perspective about how magnificent nature is. We learned that redwoods were all over the world originally, but we all know why many forests disappeared! Now its up to anyone...More

This drive was one of my family's favorites! We started in the morning and saw almost no one else. There were a few spots where the road was tight, so be prepared for that. It is a must if you are traveling through the area.

What a beautiful drive. Pictures do not do these beautiful groves of trees justice. Lots of nice short hikes along the way.

If you are wondering whether it's worth taking the extra time to drive through the Redwoods, my opinion is YES! Take the time to stop along the way and get out of your vehicle to appreciate the whole sensory experience of being in the presence...More

This was a high light of our trip and is something that one should she in your lifetime. TIP: the best section is between Miranda and Myers Flat. Don't race through stop and enjoy what took mother nature hundreds of years to make.

We stayed in Crescent City which was really close to much of the action. Eureka was busy, bumper to bumper when we were there but Crescent City was quiet, a thin strip of hotels and eateries, stores, with a bay. It's right... More

That's a surprise to me. I'd suggest calling the state or possible the best western in Garberville. The BW makes their money on that drive, they should know the answer
