Beautiful dunes that are gorgeous to view and photograph from a distance early in the morning. Closer inspection revealed a large camping area for ATVers. Not my thing but if you like ATVs, this looks like a fun area to explore. Definitely worth a stop...More

What a Dump! Literally--horrible pits of garbage, noisy dune-buggies. Made the mistake of driving down the road to this place because "Road Trip USA" calls it the "singing sand dune." Which only sings when the wind is blowing and the buggies aren't running. The WORST...More

I stumbled upon this wonderful place on accident with a friend. We decided to drive over and climb to the top. It's a much harder climb than it looks! But when you get to the top it's so beautiful. I took a lot of amazing...More

We were in Fallon, Nevada, and went there to see Sand Mountain, it was Halloween, and there was a "city" of campers there. It was like "Mad Max" with all terrain, bikes going up the mountain and back. People were very nice, even had the...More

I have friends that go out here all the time. Last month was the first time for me on my Raptor 700. This place was and is so fun and exciting. Be careful when and if you get stuck in the sand because you could...More

If this was off limits to ATVs it would be a fantastic place. Tire tracks all over the dunes. We were lucky there were very few people there. I would imagine on a crowded weekend it would be a mess. There was quite a bit...More

This is a giant pile of sand that is loads of fun. On weekends, you'll find lots of ATV's crawling the mountain. There are restrooms and lots of parking, but if you don't have 4WD, be careful, as it's easy to get stuck in the...More

Drove out the 23 miles from Fallon on Hwy 50 and took a walk about the place. Definitely a huge pile of sand. I would describe it as an ATV driver's dream. Place is located in a remote area so there is no water though...More
