There are three state parks a short distance apart that may be accessed a short drive from Coos Bay off US 101 with the first being Sunset Bay. We stopped for the view of the sandy beach and sea cliffs.

We stayed just 1 night and our boys were wishing for more when we were there just 15 min. Best part is proximity to beach. Weather was also great and staff very helpful. Very dog friendly. Made us miss our pooch who stayed home with...More

We've been here twice for tent camping. It is down a road that leads to Cape Arago with no through traffic so is nice and mellow. Large campground with lots of activity. Very kid friendly - I sent my kids off to scooter around and...More

This is a very nice campground. It's on a dead end road so you don't get much traffic. Very close to the ocean and the view from the beach is fantastic. Faces west so great sunsets. Good place for kids to play as it's pretty...More

This appeared to be an older campground. It's very pretty and only accessible after a long 12 or so mile drive off Highway 101,, but loops A and D (only ones open last month) are very different. So beware if you're booking through Reservations America....More

We had travelled south from Vancouver Island, and this was the first beach our 12 year old son could swim at. It is well protected by its narrow mouth out to the ocean, and is therefore relatively safe, and shallow. We stayed at the state...More

Located on Cape Arago highway just prior to Cape Arago, this is a very popular camping and picnic area. There is camping available at this State Park. The cove makes this a great place to play in the water.

We travel every year to stay at Sunset Bay State Park and go see the Shore Acre Botanical Garden Lights. This park is clean and nice. Of course it is always winter time, wet and cold. But it is our go to place. Thank you...More

Sorry to take so long, but there are no hotels or inns in Sunset Bay State Park. It is strictly for camping. If you want to stay in the are you either look in Bandon or Coos Bay. Bandon is a cuter town, whereas Coos Bay is... More
