What an incredible view, with white knuckles to match!

This road drops 1800 feet in just three miles. It is definitely one of the windiest, steepest roads I have ever driven, but the views are more than worth it! Just take your time... read more

An 'interesting' drive on a gravel road that climbs up (or down) the mesa - rising over 1,000ft in about 2 miles. Views are extensive. The road is gravel (with paved sharp hair pin turns) and fine in good weather - but I doubt its a good choice in rain or snow. If you don't like heights I'd give this... More

The drive is not hard (it was dry when we went) as long as you drive calmly. It looks intimidating but I didn't have a hard time at all. I had a Kia Sportage. My friend with me was scared because of the drops along the edges. If you're scared of heights, seriously just don't look down. The view from... More

Take your time and drive all the way up for great views. The road is gravel but in good condition the times I have driven it. The road seems to climb straight up the side of the cliff. Another free thing and close to the Valley of the Gods.

We drove the Moki Dugway while traveling from Mexican Hat to Natural Bridges National Monument, both coming and going, so went both directions. We were there on a Friday and on our way up in the morning only saw one other vehicle, which was on its way down as we were going up. We never felt that the road was... More

My friend and I made a special trip to Moki Dugway on a recent road trip and I'm 100% glad we did. If you go slow and use common sense, this drive is not any more dangerous than driving on a regular switchback mountain. We had a mid-size SUV and went up the dugway rather than down, only because our... More

This is a fabulous and free!! As you approach from the south, you can't see this majestic piece of work, which is but one fascinating element. The drive and the views must be experienced. We ended up making a round trip trek twice in one week: once to explore the drive up & down, another to access the Natural Bridges... More

The drive is very safe (under normal weather conditions and following the traffic signs), it provides amazing views and few places where you can stop to enjoy the view. Dont rush, drive slowly and enjoy the view!

We drove down the dugway. We were advised by a ranger at the Natural Bridges visitor centre that we should have no problems with the drive – and we didn’t. The driver does have to keep eyes on the road at all times so can only enjoy the views from the several viewing areas en route. Apparently the drive is... More

When I say you have to drive this it's not out of desire, it's because you really have to! If you're on this highway it just turns into this narrow dirt road down the side of this cliff. There's no getting around it. I thought it was cool. My wife couldn't look. It was freaking her out. The road is... More
