We have visited this memorial before. This time we took our time to look, listen and feel the power of Lincoln's leadership by reading the full texts of his Gettysburg Address and the Second Inaugural Address.

If you go to monuments of great people in other countries, people are so respectful and decorum in place. In here, the number of people who are blatantly disrespectful to the great man must be stopped.

The entire park area is beautiful. But the Lincoln Memorial is something special.
The architecture is quite spectatcular. The way that you dont really see the lincoln statue before going inside was very fascinating use of the stones they have used to build it.
You can feel the importance of Lincoln for sure.

The Lincoln Memorial is a monument in Washington DC dedicated to Abraham Lincoln, the 16th President of the United States. It is located on the National Mall and is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the city.
When there are a lot of people at the Lincoln Memorial, it can be a bit crowded and hectic. Visitors may have to navigate through crowds and lines to get inside the monument, especially during peak tourist season.
Despite the crowds, the Lincoln Memorial is still a must-see destination. The monument is an impressive structure with 36 white marble columns and a large statue of Abraham Lincoln inside. The walls are inscribed with some of Lincoln's most famous speeches, including the Gettysburg Address and his Second Inaugural Address.
Visitors may need to be patient and wait their turn to get a good view of the monument or to take a photo. However, the crowds also add to the energy and excitement of the experience.
One tip for dealing with the crowds is to visit the monument early in the morning or later in the evening, when there are fewer people around. This can also provide a more peaceful and serene experience, and allow visitors to take in the beauty and grandeur of the monument without the distractions of large crowds.
Overall, the Lincoln Memorial is a must-see destination for anyone visiting Washington DC, and despite the crowds, it's worth the effort to visit and pay tribute to one of the most important figures in American history.

Where is the easiest parking to be able to walk and view all the monuments and Smithsonian?

Honestly, take the metro into town and get off at the Smithsonian stop. That places you roughly in the middle of the National Mall. They have a red bus called the DC circulator that you can ride for free and it will take you to all of the major stops. Or you can take a stroll around to see all of the monuments and museums.

Hi,
We will visit Washington this summer. How long did you take at each monument? We are staying close by so will probably start out really early to try and avoid the main crowds!
We have to be at the Capitol Building for 10:15 and would like to get Lincoln, Korean, Vietnam and Washington monuments seen before that. We hope to be at the White House (just to take a picture and not stop) for 8:00. Do you think that would be sufficient time? We will be on foot but are all fit and healthy!
Thank you!

My opinion is No, that's not enough time, 20 minutes at each place is like running from place to place without actually paying much attention to what is there. I suppose, depending on how you sightsee, you could run up to it look it over quick, run to the next Monument. But I like to take it all in, walk around, read the information that is posted. I can't imagine being able to read anything about each place you are seeing at the speed with which you want to go. So I guess it depends on what you want to get out of it. Do you want to just look at the pretty building and keep moving? If so, sure, you can see all these things in that time. If you want to get more out of the experience while learning about each place... .you will need to allocate more time. Enjoy your visit!

Is it possible to see all the major monuments in D.C. in one day?

It is. But D.C. is worth spending more time in. If you also want to visit some of the museums, you should plan for some days.
Enjoy your stay. It is a nice city. :)

you can park on any streets around the memorial area, regular street parking, but read the signs, they can get quite confusing.
