The centrepiece of Washington DC

Simple yet impressive monument to just sit near and take in. Have a picnic nearby, really cool to see up close

Nothing else to say except the monument is closed indefinitely. You need to walk up the hill before you see the sign which seemed ridiculous. I have never been to the top of the monument in spite of years and years of visits there due to the extremely long lines and this visit proved to be another disappointment.

This is an interesting and informative destination. Much larger in person than I anticipated. The guides are very knowledgeable and the history is fascinating. After taking an elevator to the top, enjoy the marvelous views. Either get your tickets well in advance of your trip, or prepare to stand in line in the early am, as daily tickets are often... More

walking around downtown Washington, you can't miss the Washington Monument. We were lucky with a very sunny day in October and walk around the mall and the Monument.

An amazing architectural building with great history and meaning. Add to your route of must-sees. It doesn't take long to visit. Great for families and youth groups.

Along with the White House, the Capitol Building and the Lincoln Memorial, the Washington Monument is probably one of the most recognized landmarks in Washington and definitely a great reference point when planning your visit. When we were there, the views from atop the Monument were not available to the public due to elevator issues and upgrading; apparently serious enough... More

Walked past on our path to see everything. Frigid temperatures kept us from staying longer to read more. But the walk path is conducive to large groups of people walking, taking pictures and even bike riding!
