Inside, there's an exhibition on who Smithson was, and some very old pictures of Washington. It was interesting, but short (not even 20 minutes) and nothing out of this world. Go here to see the castle, the gardens, and only if you are in the...More

Acts a kind of a preview to what the different Smithsonian museums have to offer, and tells some of the history of the Smithsonian. Worth spending an hour or two at least.

Though not a muse alum which will take a great deal of time, a visit to the “castle” provides a quick and informative overview of the museums which make up the Smithsonian.

This is a very cool, old building. Good for getting information on the museums. Good for getting a snack and rejuvenating. Interesting exhibits in the west gallery. Wish you could tour more of the building

A building of beautiful architecture that explains how the “smithsonian”can to be. A small exhibit to display the variety of collections is on site and direct visitors to their museum(s) of greatest interest. Each collection so vast, only 2% is displayed in any of the...More

This building is really neat and has a lot of thing to see in it. There is also a gift shop and a place to eat.

The "Castle" is a fascinating building and while it only houses a visitor center and gift shop it is worth visiting to understand the history and the development of the Smithsonian.

Smithsonian Castle housing the Smithsonian Institution has a large collection of artifacts from history, dating back to native american life before the gold rush. There are very interesting information boards about American Presidents and other historical persona.
