Going to Washington, D.C. over the weekend, we visited the parade of a picture perfect night. The marching band was sensational and the parade was very easy to watch and the marines were very coordinated. The uniforms were spectacular.

As a former Marine, I have seen the Parade on two previous occasions. I wanted very much to bring someone very special to me to the Parade to share this with him. It was an absolutely 'perfect weather' night and he was amazed as am...More

As you read the comments in this thread, please keep in mind that there are two different events being discussed here: Sunset Parade and Evening Parade. Both are fantastic. Sunset Parade is held every Tuesday night in the summer at 7pm at the Iwo Jima...More

I've lived in DC for over a year and this is easily one of my favorite things to see. These are only Tuesday nights in the summer and crowds gather quickly!

If you can't make a Tuesday night parade but know you'll be in DC on a Friday, request seats for the Friday night parade at 8th & I Sts SE. There is a website...it's free. Both are dramatic performances but in different ways.

The interior was stunning so be sure to take your camera. Go on a guided tour to get the information then spend sometime going back over the rooms and building yourself beautiful decor

Read 'Flags of Our Fathers' to understand the backstory on the statue, the event and the real life soldiers memorialized in bronze. Then go to the Tuesday evening sunset parade for the best in military pageantry and national ceremony. There is also a more musical...More

If you don't know anyone with connections it can be a challenge. There are limited tickets and they gofast....like within days of going online in the spring. Search early and often. I believe they do have some standby spots at each parade. Truely a bit...More

One of the most impressive things I've ever seen. Truly moving and awe inspiring for the talent and dedication exhibited by these amazing young Americans. Fabulous musicians and pageantry were on full display! The Silent Drill team left me speechless. A WONDERFUL evening!

Just get tickets and go. The bands, the marching, the silent drill, and Chesty trotting out. A wonderful way to spend a summer Friday evening. They all look so handsome in those dress blue uniforms.

Is there a certain attire to wear? I'm a former Marine and wouldn't want to disrespect by not being dressed appropriately. I was stationed at Quantico but never got to see this ceremony. Thank you

It ranged from dresses and blazers to shorts and sneakers. It was great, though.
Hi, I noticed several Trip Advisor reviewers say you need to book in advance for this parade. However on the website it says you can't book in advance. Could anyone help please? Thanks
