This was the most disappointing part of our trip to DC. The zoo was poorly signed, difficult to find parking, and was not well done. The signage was outdated, the enclosures were small and the interpretive programs were not very visible or well done.

Like it says in the title... what I really liked, great habitats for those animals. I believe that they are enjoying their captivity, more or less. The only bad thing was "Kids farm". We went with a shuttle to there, but it was somewhat renovating...More

Very disappointing Zoo for one that claims to The National Zoological Park. The grounds are very nice but many of the enclosures are very poor, both from the aspect of viewing and what is provided for the animals. I tend to visit the zoo if...More

We went with friends to the Boo in the Zoo, which has the main path set up with halloween themed displays and sponsored tables and volunteers in costume handing out treats (mostly chocolate due to primary sponsor, but some healthier options and non-edibles). The displays...More

It was a nice zoo. I would recommend to go early in the day when the animals are more active. We went mid-day an stayed all afternoon but lot of the animals were sleeping or we didn't see them. We did get to see the...More

I have been to many zoos in my life and this one is just incredible. There are so many different animals and the exhibits are so nice! There is a lot of walking uphill. However I am happy to say I did it all. The...More

This zoo has a great flow to it. We were disappointed that we were not able to see the pandas as they were inside during our visit. The small mammal house was a great way to see lots of animals. October was a great time...More

It's one of the larger zoos I've been to, and it has a many variety of animals. My son's favorites are the big cats (lion and tiger). We saw crocs/alligators, snakes, elephants, wolves, frogs, cows, donkeys, small mammals, fish, frogs, etc. The only thing I...More

This is a great zoo that takes special care in housing their animals in appropriate enclosures. That can make it hard to see the critters, but even that makes it more like seeing them in their native habitats. Well laid out and a nice walking...More

It appears to be ADA compliant. There is paved paths everywhere, as others noted, there are some hills. I would recommend entering in the main entrance, see the panda area, then head to the green path, which slopes downward... More

I did see some people in wheel chairs. Building doors seemed wide. There were limited stairs but, if there were, there were elevators. I would say it is accessible.
