We drove over the Potomac several times during our 3 days near Washington DC. Earlier in the week, we were at Harper's Ferry and saw where it meets the Shenandoah River. I'm kind of fascinated with rivers & bridges so enjoyed it all.

We took a relaxing tour on a river boat cruise. We got to see the monuments from The water. It was a nice way to see them.

Famous river, nice to look at...while crossing on a bridge. If in Washington metro, you will have a chance to see it.

My mother and I visited the Potomac River in December 2016. Although it was cold, it was still a beautiful site to stop by and look at for a few minutes. We walked along the boardwalk and harbor near Old Town in Alexandria, Virginia.

You can see the river from either side (DC or Virginia) Although most people see it from downtown DC I like it best from old town Alexandria where you can see the Wilson Bridge and the Ferris wheel at National Harbor.

As you're traveling the city, you will often encounter the Potomac. There are many, many parks along the waters edge so great views while a picnicing. You'll also see an occasional fisherman, and we saw a waterskiing Santa show in Alexandria on Christmas!

Hi, Does the hotel have an elevator? Also, if I need a room with a king bed, and want a gulf view, what room type should I book? Thank you for your help. Lisa
