We visited the cathedral as chaperones on our son's school trip. We were amazed at the beauty of all the stained glass windows and other architectural designs, carvings and beautifully designed doors.

one of the best things about DC. Try to be there for a service- be a part of it, not just a tourist.

They require payment for you to enter a church? One tour were not asked. I guess it depends on whom is working or who is visiting?

We went for the March for Life, and visited the cathedral. It's so overwhelming both in size and beauty. It's well worth visiting, regardless of religious belief or not. The architecture and artwork inside are amazing.
