very nice tribute memorial to the Navy. The lone sailor was striking. The fountains and historical scenes of different positions in the Navy was nice. Great place to sit and give thanks to those that served.

I went at night in the winter when no one was around. There was no water, no sound, no distractions. I could just wander and look at each of the 24 bronze bas relief panels. I especially appreciated that many aspects of Navy life and events were depicted, including the contributions of women.

Located in Penn Quarter across Pennsylvania Avenue from Archives, many D.C. explorers might miss this great sculpture and fountain. It's a nice photo op. If you're heading to China Town on Metro's Green or Yellow line, it might be worth it to get out at the Archives - Navy Memorial station. The sculpture and fountain are right there when you... More

Stopped in to this place just to give it a try. Don't expect a large display, because this is a pretty small place by DC Mall Museum standards. Quality exhibits though. I've never served in the Navy so maybe that's why it didn't especially click with me.

I've visited DC many times and while I have seen the memorial I never notice the museum associated with it. While waiting for a table at a nearby restaurant we poked our heads in here and discovered a gem. Extremely informative exhibits; with a little imagination you can envision and relive the sacrifices that many brave sailors have made for... More

As a regular visitor to Washington D.C., over the years I've walked through this area many times, and I must confess I didn't notice this fine Memorial until just recently. Located on Pennsylvania Avenue NW (between 7th & 9th Streets NW - near the National Archives Building), it honours the Men and Women of the various Sea Services of the... More

Well laid out yet small memorial. The museum is small but very informative. They were celebrating the "Year of the Marines" when we visited. Short and informative movie is available. Exhibits are well laid out. Very nicely maintained facility. Highly recommended.

Close by the Newseum and the huge Canadian Embassy, this is the official memorial to the Navy. Inside you can track and locate former serving navy personnel, learn about how you can support the navy and enjoy the exhibits. Outside you are likely to run into an event or a band playing. Give it a look and honor the navy

This was a total surprise in my recent visit to DC. I attended a ceremony that was held at this specific memorial. Honestly, I had never even known that there was a US Navy Memorial before then. A great feature was the map laid out in the central circular assembly place. Because I especially like maps, and have great personal... More
