Historic National Park running from Cumberland MD to lower Georgetown, DC. Wide, level path, excellent for day hikes in the area. Water and rest rooms at Fletchers Cove. Excellent for weekday walk into Georgetown for meal or coffee and back to car along the canal....More

Although most people grab a bike and ride it I prefer the quite and solitude of walking it. You can enter at Georgetown or further up in DC towards Maryland.

Although boat rides are no longer available on the C&O, you can still walk by the canal. The water wasn't very clean though.

My wife and myself walked the tow pathetic from 29 street to key bridge it is nice and sentimental but the anal is dried with trash in its stream I hope authorities will clear it
