We went to hear Bellini's La Siraniera: ridiculous story, great singing. The opera was truly fine, and the student & elderly ushers are TOTALLY knowledgeable, helpful and welcoming. But the hall leaves a lot to be desired. The MEN's room line during the intermission was...More

We had a really good show experience last night at the Lisner Auditorium on teh campus of GW University.  It's a typical college auditorium, so really don't expect a Kennedy Center experience.  After reading some of the reviews before I suspect people really thought they...More

Going to an opera performance in this auditorium is less than perfect because there is really no place to hide the orchestra. The Opera Lafayette used this auditorium for their performance of the seldom-performed Pierre Gaveaux's "Leonore, ou L'amour conjugal" which was really a very...More

We came to the Lisner for the D.C. Christmas Revels. The show was great fun. The auditorium is a basic large venue with no balconies, so it is easy to get to you seat. It was fun to walk around the campus after the show.

If you're familiar with legroom in economy class on a budget airline, you'll be shocked that there is even less at Lisner. Trust me. Unless you get a seat at the end of the row where there's no seat in front of you, you won't...More

The Washington Concert Opera series is held at this auditorium. I find the acoustics in this hall quite suitable for such performances. It is just one massive space, so there is no overhanging balconies to muffle the sounds. The only drawback is their antiquated rest...More

For an auditorium it was nice. All the staff I encountered was friendly. We sat in the middle row N and the seats were great. Small enough venue that probably not a bad seat. Enjoy,

Perfect size Auditorium to see the stage and take photos. Comfortable seats. Lighting is good. Enough exits for a crowd.

Built in 1941, this storied auditorium has hosted concerts, plays and other events. I was there for the National Science Bowl final round competition. The exterior is limestone in a spare stripped classicism of the 1940s. The sightlines are excellent and the acoustics are good...More
