The theater was very small and able to see everything very close. The play was very different and not what I expected. The song Amazing Grace at the end was wonderful.

I love the National Theatre. Yes, it's a bit old and outdated, but that just adds to the ambiance. The ushers love to chat and help the wait time pass. It is easily accessible by car or Metro. Bewared of partially blocked seats! You'll want...More

Sometimes has a broadway show that's touring outside New York. Sometimes it has a show previewing and changing before it gets to Broadway. A nice venue. We've enjoyed a number of events here. Les Miserables was very good. Can't wait to see Domething Rotten in...More

Really enjoyed the Les Miserables production that just closed in DC. Unfortunately, the venue, The National Theatre, seemed a little worn and uncomfortable. Our mezzanine seats had very little leg room, meaning that we had to stand up everytime someone wanted to get past while...More

We made the trip into DC for the New Year's Eve production of Les Mis. While the production was awesome, we were less than impressed with the venue. In dire need of renovation...lack of toilet facilities, the STEEP stairs on the balcony, old fabric on...More

Great classic theatre. Balcony seats seem a little small and have little legroom. Balcony is pretty steep making views very good. Just be careful on the stairs. It also gets very warm in balcony. Check your coat as there just isn’t room in your seat...More

My husband and I brought our 15 year old daughter here to see Les Miserables for her birthday. The show was amazing - incredible voices, acting and staging. This was our first time at this theater. I appreciated that they sent out an email the...More

Sold out show of Les Miserables at the National Theater. Partial blockage from balcony overhang. Not the best venue we’ve ever been to.

The National Theater is smaller than the Kennedy Center and feels more like a Broadway theater. They need more bathrooms. There is only one option on the second floor so expect long waits at intermission. What they lack in restrooms they make up for in...More
