It's like a mini-Chelsea Market. The cheese shop inside and local breweries are great kiosks to visit. We grabbed a grilled manchego cheese sandwich, a glass of Chianti, and strolled through the shops and other vendors. Smells of unique flavors and creative dishes fill the...More

Went here on a recommendation of a family member. Very happy we went! The place is a large open building with many different small restaurants along with a few shops. Our family enjoyed the wide selection of different cuisines, south american empanadas, french crepes, etc....More

Visited Union Market for the first time for lunch on Saturday while visiting D.C. It's a fantastic experience....lots of vendors with high end choices and variety. We tried several and weren't disappointed. It's one of top 5 food markets in U.S. for a reason!

Rejunivation ongoing for the DC area and NE DC wasn't somewhere I would have thought to visit previously. However, enjoyable visit. many food stands with unique options, bakery, milk, cheeses, etc. Places to sit. A few restaurants as well.

My wife and I hadn't been to Union Market for years when we returned yesterday. We had a wonderful lunch and left with arms full of provisions from the stands. What shocked us is what happened to the bakery, which was one of the reasons...More

First and foremost, Union Market is a small open air mall with upscale food. A very nice place but in the end it is a mall. Having said that, I love the place. This is an old warehouse re-purposed (or a well disguised new building)...More

The market is on a slight grade, but nothing strenuous. I usually walk over from the nearest Metro and have never noticed the grade, as it is so gradual.

It is like a farmers market. I would think though its more food vendors are here. There is a stall for produce, seafood, and meats, but you can 100 percent eat here.
