The Sturgeon Bay 2017 activity guide lists the observation tower at Potawatomi State Park as the #1 place to take a selfie in Door County. I have no interest in selfies, but I enjoy a good scenic view and was not disappointed. The view from...More

Peninsula gets all the rave reviews, most people forget or don't know about Potawatomi which is ok. Yes, Peninsula is beautiful, but in Summertime you can't go anywhere without running into someone else. If you want to get away from the crowds and feel you...More

Going through these parks in March is not the best time of year to do so. But still great natural beauty. Good views of the lake. Road to tower was closed so hope to see that next time.

Just like cave point there are so many trails here! Nice place to get a good hike in! Great place to explore with family or spend quality time with a hubby or someone special! The tower here is phenomenal!

This park has several scenic view points (one having an observation tower you can climb about three stories). There is a boat launch, a large campground (with primitive and RV camps separated), and good hiking trails (including the Eastern terminus of the Ice Age trail).

In this park we had two goals: Explore a bit of the Ice Age Trail and climb the Potawatomi Tower. The trail was quite easy and we had some good exercise. By the way this trail goes through all of Wisconsin! However, the highlight here...More

Not as busy as Peninsula State Park. Stayed for 4 nights next to friends. We are tent campers. Only one shower/flush toilet facility for whole campground from what we experienced. Unless there's another hidden somewhere? Water in showers was warm enough, but the women's bathroom...More

The colors on the published maps are somewhat faded and hard to differentiate one trail from the other on the map, but besides that, very well maintained and at least during the week not overly busy. We saw only three other parties during our 8...More

This is a very nice state park with beautiful views. They have a very nice 4 lane concrete boat launch, many picnic areas by the lake, and beautiful hiking/mountain biking trails. The park is getting a little dated but the shower house is still in...More

What are some of the highlights to this park? There's an Observation Tower and Old Ski Hill Overlook? Can we park by the Tower without hiking a few miles?

Yes you can park right by the tower and then climb up it for great views. Beautiful shelter areas for picnics that overlook the lake (kids loved "skipping rocks" there, if you know what that means😀). Great biking park with... More
