We had a wonderful time today. We not only got to see all the planes but there was a car show as well. I recommend the tour of air force 1. The tour guide Larry told amazing stories and I really learned alot. This is a must see. If you are traveling through take some time to stop.

My son entered his Camaro in the car show, so I went with him and enjoyed looking at all of the planes and cars.

We were very impressed by the variety and condition of planes. It is a nice outdoor walking tour and you see huge variety of planes from the tiny 'tweet' jet to SR 71 and the B52 and B36 monsters. One of the most interesting air museums we have seen.... worth the bit of driving off the beaten path. They have... More

Air museums are a great place to spend your free time and this is one of the better ones. First for me were the B-52, B-36 and the SR-71 just to name a few. I will definitely return after they receive the B-58 this summer. The weather was perfect for this visit. The staff is very friendly, very informative and... More

This museum is unlike most. What a treat to have such history to view. I recommend this as a field trip for grandparents with the little ones. So much to take in.

I visited this place with my brother, I randomly found the place on google earth whilst looking for things to do while passing through, on the way to Yosemite. It was great, quiet and maybe 5 or 6 of us in total walking around. The aircraft are all outside, there are large Cold War bombers, ww2 era, Vietnam era, fighter... More

I've lived and traveled around northern California for a number of years, but for some reason never visited (or knew about) the Castle Air Museum in Atwater. As an afterthought I decided to visit there on a trip to Yosemite. What wonderful surprise! This place is great and well worth a visit for anyone who has an interest in airplanes.

This is the kind of place my husband could spend the day in. Really friendly staff The planes are set out so you can get great photos of them without too much fencing in.they are set out alone a pathway and can amble between them at your own pace. You can also get up real close unlike most other museums.... More

Great planes including an Air Force One but the price of admission is nuts ! Way too expensive. All you can see is the outside of the planes except for on "open cockpit" day and thats all you get to see. I'd rather see inside the plane than the cockpit. Very disappointing because of the cost.

Very friendly place, i believe most guides are veterans so be generous, be prepare for a long walk, although you could rent a golf car in there, don't forget your camera, comfortable shoes and water if visiting in hot weather. very close to Merced.
