Mister Goose
Jul 2021
Mister Goose

A friend if can call them that! They work at Sacramento hotel you knowing where, you knowing when, you knowing who! They took me to this of Lake Clementine! In July so yes, people still wear mask that is a good thing!

Well, there was a Canadian Goose! It seems to want make friends with me! It was not even afraid of me, I wonder if maybe it is Imprinted on People! Maybe it just wanted some cookie crumbs! When I try get near, the person says, Be Careful! You Not Want Take The Chance! Wow, then it found another family, try make friends with that family!

This is a good place, there a beach area! People were in the water to get wet and to swim! Very nice place to visit! I will recommend it!

Wonderful spot to hike and enjoy natural surroundings
Mar 2021
I intended to take the 4 mile round trip hike to see the waterfall but we did not get too far. Probably less than a mile in, the trail narrowed and there was a steep drop on one side to the river. I have a great fear of this type of hiking trail; I can't blame it on my age (64). I am probably braver and a better hiker now than I ever have been. We have many trails of this sort where I live, but those drop into canyons (would you rather fall into a river or a canyon?). Therefore, I stick to coastal hikes or atop the bluffs and avoid the trails in the canyons. Despite the disappointment of not being able to finish the trail walk at Lake Clementine, we still got plenty of exercise, and we found the path to descend to the river bank. What a gorgeous vantage point to view the river up close. There actually are many trails here, but I couldn't get good information about which ones might be do-able for me from the ranger. My guess is that he took a look at me and decided I couldn't do any of them. This might be true. I would recommend this to anyone, even those of average fitness level or fears of heights/falling, as you can still find things to do here and enjoy the scenery. If you are adventurous and fit, you will enjoy it even more.

Great Place To Hike
Jul 2020
The guy from Sheraton Grand Sacra take me here! We found the lake! Was very hot day! I remembered bring swim suit (ONE PIECE OF COURSE), so when we get to this lake, I take off shirt, go to area where look as rocks form an area! This area, dip my feet, go somewhat in! Hey Mister Corona Virus still around, not wanting take off mask, so somewhat in! The area surrounded by rocks, not go beyond that, is not too deep! Ah yes, there was goose! It seemed become friends with me! It even come close, the guy says, "Be Careful, Tiger! Do not touch it!" The hour and half, it seemed be friendly to people, hope as gosling was not "imprinted" on people! Then we hiked to the bridge area! Yes a great place to cool off and to hike! I welcomed that because as say, Mister Corona Virus still around, hotel swimming pool temporary closed! At least people were keeping Six Feet Or More Distancing!

Beautiful Lake with Amazing Dam
Jun 2020
We walked down to the lake and dam. Be prepared with lots of drinking water as the walk back up to the entrance is a challenge. The area is beautiful and great scenery. Best to visit during the week when it is quieter than the weekend.

Great hike, beautiful views, not stroller friendly
Nov 2019 • Family
This is a great 4 mile hike! Dirt path, lots of shade. Picnic table near the falls to rest and have a snack. Lots of walkers and bikers. We had a toddler thinking it was stroller friendly but it isn’t. Some very narrow areas with large rocks making it difficult to navigate. There were lots of kids ages ages approx 7 and above walking - I just don’t recommend bringing a stroller.

Review Fifty Four
Sep 2019
This is Review Number (MAESTRO or MAESTRA a few notes on the piano if you please) FIFTY FOUR of this!

There several us came here to hike! First we go to Welcome Center in town Auburn, they gave us this suggestion! Nice hike, we got see squirrels, butterflies, flowers, even a deer and half grown fawn eating leaves! Surprising we look at them, Mother Deer not try take fawn away, they look at us! Not too steep a hike, as our Leader emailing not sure right word, he has some kind fan club! He emails that person (ME) medical stroke survivor, bad leg (leg injury year 2005) yet he just amazed I able hike with entire group to the dam! He at time had 49 votes on it!

Four hour to five hour hike! Very beautiful! The mist at the dam was very refreshing! Ah all the beauty of nature that God created, He created saw that it was good!

Upper Lake Clementine
Aug 2019 • Family
I’ve been going to Upper Lake Clementine since before my son was born at Auburn Faith 25 years ago.
Before they set up booths to collect money to visit an area that has been paid for by taxes prior.
Since being put on the park circuit it has gotten extremely populated and worsened conditions.
See pic of Andy Gump, this is what you get when you pay more for something.
My grandchildren couldn’t use any of the toilets all day.
No service at all, except to collect money and lock the booth at the end.
This kind of service would not happen without change with a private company.
Why? Profit. The government just gets in your pockets for money, to perform less.
Government does not know how to operate parks.
Defund the Forest Service and turn it over to private enterprises.
The River is majestic, but would be better privately run.

Day trip to upper lake Clementine
Aug 2019 • Family
We had never been here before until this past weekend....

We went with a nice group..
Showed up around 11am and got a nice place to set up our pop ups....

Its ten bucks per car, no animals, no alcohol, no fires..

The place was nice... Water was good to swim in...

Pretty scenic... It wasnt too hot and there was a light breeze.

The negatives were the bathrooms and the drive down the hill to the beach.

Overall, we had a good time and would go back..

Beautiful of the lower Lake Clementine but crazy steep drive down Forrest Hill Road
Mar 2019 • Family
The drive down to the Lower Lake Clementine was insane....I was not prepared for the drive down to the reservoir it was very steep and winding. It was scary because there was no railing around the corners and it was basically turning on a blind corner and don't know if a vehicle is coming and its hard to pass one another on such a narrow road not to mention a little dangerous. Once down the hill, you make another sharp turn and head down another narrow road. You pay your entrance fee $10 at the attendant gate. Once we got out we went to see the water rushing and it was quite a sight!

Great Family HIke
Oct 2018 • Family
This is a beautiful hike, great for kids. There are bathrooms at the beginning of the hike and the path is perfect for little ones. I'll admit, we didn't make it all the way to the lake, the kids got tired and we turned around, but there was plenty to see and it was so beautiful. Path is clearly marked and easy to follow. Parking on the side of the road, but clear where to do that.
