Bob Jones trail is everything reviewers said it was. A breathtaking, safe & immaculately maintained path that just lifts your spirits as you take in the natural beauty around you. It cuts through the golf course & then follows along the boundary of some high end houses. My 11 year old daughter & I walked the entire 5 mile trail... More

This trail starts outside of downtown Avila. It goes over the San Luis Obispo River where you can see birds, flowers, and the occasional seal. The trail continues past fields of wildflowers into eucalyptus and native oak stands. The trail ends at a café.

Beautiful 3 mile trail leading to Avila beach. Kids took their scooters, played in a little playground along the way. The trail goes through a golf course and is pretty flat all the way. I took my son's scooter on the way back and drove the car from the start of the trail to the beach..:) was an awesome 20... More

Not exactly spectacular views, but a mild way to get from the Avila Village Center where we were staying down to Avila Beach.

This trail was by far the best part of our weekend getaway to Avila beach. It had rained a few days before and the wildflowers were blooming. The trail is open to walkers and bicyclists. Highly recommend.

We rented bikes and really enjoyed the Bob Jones trail, but earlier is better as it can get crowded as the day progresses. You can also walk the trail easily. There is a market right on the trail you can stop at half way for a meal or snack. For a longer trek you can take the trail to Avila... More

This is a very gentle almost six mile rt bike path, good for a compromised knee... you don't have to do the whole distance. It's a lovely amenity for this community, beautiful in spring wildflowers and birds on the creek. About half and half sun and shade, only 150 ft. Elevation gain. Goes by golf course and housing development, but... More

Very well maintained trail you can walk, run, bike or skate on. Personally I have done all of them. Not too crowded and the trail will take you all the way to Avila Beach main strip. There is a restaurant off the trail you can stop and eat at.

We visited the Bob Jones trail, riding Pedego electric bikes right from the town of Avila Beach. It was really pretty and great for bike riding. Lots of folks enjoying it while we were there. My husband, who is a bird watcher, saw some good warblers there too.
